The BBMF, however, remains the principal public link with the past – their very presence in the sky reminding us of the sacrifices made by so many, and not only in the air but on the ground, for without the hard work, skill and dedication of the ground crews and support staff, the success of the air war could not have been achieved. Long may the BBMF continue to fly, so that future generations may know at what cost their freedoms have been preserved.

At St Dunstan’s, we provide crucial assistance to ex-Service men and women with very significant loss of sight. Our specialist training and support helps them regain their independence and optimism and make the most of the opportunities available to them. We're partners for life, helping not just St Dunstaners, but also their families, who often need support or advice in their own right. Teaching new skills, sorting out housing issues, helping with benefit claims, and providing a thriving sporting and social network are just a few of our many roles.

The Royal British Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependents. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for our support and we receive thousands of calls for help every year.
The Legion was founded in 1921 as a voice for the ex-Service community and over 450,000 members continue to ensure that this voice does not go unheard. Although the needs of ex-Service people have changed over the years, we are still there to safeguard their welfare, interests and memory. British service people are in action around the world every day of the year. They know that if they need our support - now or in the future - the Legion is always on active duty for them.
